Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies sent a half dozen people to jail on drug related charges this past week.

On Monday, Sept. 6, Deputy Kacey Reschar responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle. He spoke with the complainant and was told two people were seen walking away from the vehicle.

A short time later, the deputy located Serena Keller, 33, and Corey Gates, 44, both of Lexington. Reschar’s questioning of the pair led to their arrest.

Keller was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of a look-a-like drug.

Gates was arrested for resisting law enforcement, possession of a narcotic drug, and possession of a look-a-like drug.

That same day, Deputies Charlie Morgan and Zach Brown were called to the Dollar General in Lexington on a report of an unresponsive man.  The deputies made contact with David Parks, 35, of Columbus. After Scott County EMS evaluated and cleared Parks law enforcement arrested Parks for possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a legend drug, dealing in methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, Sept. 8, Deputy Recshar made a traffic stop in Scottsburg.  After talking to the driver, Robert Wolfe, 60, of Austin, Recshar’s investigation led to the arrest Wolfe’s for possession methamphetamine.

Earlier this month Scott County Sheriff’s Office received information of reported drug activity at a residence on English Avenue in Austin. Deputy John Hartman investigated and he obtained a search warrant for the residence that was served with the assistance of the Austin Police Department on Friday Sept. 3. As a result of what was discovered during the search, case was submitted to Scott County Prosecutor Chris Owens and on Thursday, Sept. 9, Jeremiah Hardin, 41, of Austin was arrested for possession of a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, and maintaining a common nuisance.

Later on Sept. 9, Deputy Johnney Coomer responded to Hardy Lake in reference to a disturbance.  There he met with Jeanne Pearson, 43, of Norman in Jackson County.  Coomer’s questioning led to the arrest of Pearson for public intoxication, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.

All six were incarcerated in Scott County Jail
