Four area school corporations will have a school board election this November but there will be no races as only one candidate filed for each of the seats.
In Crothersville, two incumbent board members opted not to seek re-election. Linda Luedeman in District 2 and Jaime Land in District 5 are not seeking another term on the school board. The only incumbent to file was Tiffany Reynolds representing District 3.
The lone District 2 candidate is Timothy ‘T.J.’ Mills while James A. ‘Jimmy’ Shirley was the only candidate to file for the District 5 seat.
In Austin, two board seats on the Scott County School District 1 are up for election and incumbents Kathy R. Morris and Ryan Joseph Payne were the only two to file for election.
In Scott County School District 2, incumbents Andrea Beswick Soloe and Jennifer Hutchinson Craig were the only two to file for school board.
In the Medora School Board election, two incumbents, Larry Osborn and Darrell Persinger, filed to seek another term.
Only in the Seymour Community Schools are there any races for school board.
Incumbents Nancy Franke and Joe Tormoehlen filed to seek another term on the board running at-large. Holly Coates also filed to seek one of the two at-large board seats.
Incumbent board member John Kelly faces a challenge from Carl J. Kuhlman to represent Redding Township on the board. Incumbent Max Klosterman faces a challenge from Ryon Wheeler to represent Washington Township on the Seymour School Board.
Brownstown Central School Corporation has no election as that board is appointed.
The deadline to file for school board was noon Friday, Aug. 26.
