Late Tuesday night, Sept. 28, Scott County Deputy Zach Brown stopped a vehicle on U.S. 31 in Scottsburg for a traffic infraction. During his conversation with the driver, Deputy Brown located nearly 24 grams (nearly an ounce) of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

The passenger, Bethany Sparrow, 36 of the 5100 block of S 1000 E, Crothersville was arrested for dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, her uncle, Korey L. Sparrow, 37, of the same address, was arrested for dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of marijuana.

They were booked into Scott County Jail early Wednesday morning. In their initial appearance before Scott Circuit Court Judge Jason Mount, he set their bond at $100,000 each. They remain incarcerated in Scott County Jail.

On Tuesday, Sept. 28, Deputies received a tip from that a man wanted on a Scott County warrant was at a residence in Little York, near the Scott County Line. When deputies went to the address they found wanted man, Michael Jeffries, 55, of Austin, and arrested him for possession of methamphetamine, visiting a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, Sept. 29, Jason Arbuckle, 47 of Scottsburg, was arrested after officers were called to Bogardus Road near the Jennings County line for suspicious circumstances involving a male subject.

When deputies arrived they found Arbuckle, who was intoxicated, fighting with Scott County EMS responders. As officers attempted to put him into custody he began fighting deputies. Arbuckle faces charges of driving while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana.

Around 6 a.m. Friday morning, Oct. 1, Joseph Creech, 43, from Harrison County was arrested after deputies received a call about a suspicious vehicle on Bogardus Road.

Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and after speaking with the driver, Deputy Johnny Coomer arrested the driver, Joseph Creech for possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a legend drug and possession of a controlled substance.
