Two New Albany residents were arrested after leading numerous law enforcement agencies on a vehicle pursuit through three counties on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The initial investigation by Detectives with the Indiana State Police reported shortly before 3 p.m., Officers with the Seymour Police Department responded to Home Depot in Seymour after receiving reports of an attempted theft.  Officers arrived on scene as the suspects left the property in a U-Haul box truck.

Seymour Police Officers attempted to stop the vehicle as the vehicle merged onto I-65 Southbound.  Indiana State Troopers, as well as officers from other law enforcement agencies, joined in pursuing the vehicle that fled southbound through Jackson County.  In southern Jackson County near Crothersville, the suspect, later identified as Chance L. Money, 36, New Albany drove the box truck through the median and continued fleeing southbound in the northbound lanes of I-65 towards oncoming traffic.

A trooper with ISP entered the median crossover near the 34-mile marker north of Austin.  The trooper attempted to place a tire deflation device on the roadway in the path of the truck.

But Money then drove through the median towards the trooper.  The trooper fired at least one round from his handgun in the direction of the vehicle.  Neither Money, nor his passenger, Jessica N. Holliday, 36, New Albany were struck or injured.

Money drove back into the southbound lanes of I-65.  The vehicle continued fleeing through Scott County and into Clark County.  The box truck eventually came to a stop on I-65 near Sellersburg where Money and Holliday were both taken into custody.

Money and Holliday were both wanted on felony warrants out of Clark County, ISP reported.  Holliday had a protection order against Money at the time of the incident.  Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were also located in the truck.

Money was transported to the Clark County Jail where he was held on felony charges of invasion of privacy, criminal recklessness with a vehicle, resisting law enforcement, and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in addition to the Clark County warrants for auto theft, theft, battery with injury domestic battery and criminal confinement.
