Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Madison man on numerous drug charges after he was found passed out behind he wheel of his pickup last week.

Donald Shane Nicholson, 39, of 300 block of Plum Street in Madison has been charged in Scott Circuit court with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Kelsie Sizemore was on patrol around 5 p.m., Monday, March 30, when she was notified by a Jennings County Sheriff’s deputy of a man unconscious but breathing on the driver’s side of a black pickup parked in the 1500 block of S. Hunter Road on the Scott-Jefferson County line.
The complaining property owner had texted a photo of the man with what appeared to be a rolled marijuana cigarette hanging out of his mouth, according to the probable cause affidavit.
When deputies and EMS arrived they roused the driver Nicholson and determined that he was cleared medically.
In searching the truck, deputies located 48.7 grams of marijuana, several glass pipes and a scale with white powdery substance, 5.3 grams of methamphetamine, and 11 Alprazolam prescription pills a Schedule 4 controlled substance.
Nicholson was booked in to Scott County Jail at 6:09 p.m. On Tuesday, March 31, Scott Circuit Court Magistrate Alison Frazier set Nicholson’s bond at $35,000.
