Crothersville’s BSA Troop 522 will retire American flags in a solemn ceremony this Saturday, April 10 at 2 p.m. at Countryside Park west of town. The flag retirement will follow a scout color guard’s procession starting at 1 p.m. from the Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department (the Troop’s new local charter organization), past the police station, school, and City Hall, and out to Countryside Park.
The Troop invites the public to view the procession and/or attend the flag retirement.
Due to BSA’s safety guidelines, the troop will have to cancel the event if Jackson County’s Covid-19 Positivity rate rises above 10%, said Scoutmaster Steve Plasse.
