The Plan Commission of the City of Seymour, Indiana will hold a public hearing on the 8th day of February 2024 at 5:00 p.m. at Seymour City Hall, 301-309 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana on a “Petition to Rezone Real Estate” within the jurisdiction of the Plan Commission. A copy of the petition is on file and available for review at the Department of Planning & Zoning of the City of Seymour, Indiana.

The hearing is open to the public, all adjoining property owners, and any other interested person. Interested persons may appear and offer comments on the application at the hearing. Any person who chooses to submit written comments or objections may do so at the Department of Planning & Zoning, 301-309 N. The names of the applicants are Baxter Family Trust, and the owners are the same.

The affected real estate is the corner of 1500 Blk of E Tipton and Burkhart Blvd.

The present zoning is R-1 (Residential) & C-3 Commercial and they want to be C-3.

The applicants have requested to rezone the real estate at the corner of 1500 Blk of E Tipton and Burkhart Blvd. It is zoned R-1 and C-3 and they are wanting it all to be C-3.

JACKSON COUNTY WATER UTILITY, INC.

2024 ANNUAL

MEMBERSHIP MEETING

This is to inform members of Jackson County Water Utility, Inc. of the upcoming annual membership meeting. The meeting will be held at Jackson County Water Utility, Inc. facility located at 1119 West Spring Street, Brownstown, IN 47220 on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is held each year for the purpose of electing three (3) members to the Board of Directors, to hear reports of the manager, President and other officers of the corporation and to conduct any and all other business which may properly come before the meeting.

The election process is as follows:

(1) A member of the corporation must nominate another member of the corporation as a candidate for election to the Board of Directors held at the annual meeting of the corporation.

(2) The person so nominated must be a member in good standing and must reside in the district up for election that year; may not be employed by a competing water company; may not be a current employee of the corporation; may not be a former employee of the corporation unless six years have elapsed since such employment and may not be a close relative (mother, father, sister, brother, children) of a current director or current employee of the corporation.

(3) The nominating member shall provide their name and address and the name and address of the person nominated by them in writing to the Election Committee of the Corporation no later than 4:30 p.m. EST on Monday February 5, 2024. The nomination shall be mailed or delivered to the “Election Committee”, 1119 West Spring Street, Brownstown, Indiana 47220.

(4) The Election Committee shall determine the qualification of the nominating member and the person nominated. These persons so nominated shall be qualified to the ballot for Director by Monday March 4, 2024.

(5) No nomination for Director shall be taken from the floor at the annual meeting. Each membership shall have one vote. (Example: If a membership is listed with both husband and wife’s names, either one may cast a ballot but not both.) The Districts and the current Directors up for election this year are: District 1 (Salt Creek Township), Clayton Beard; District 2 (Hamilton Township), Gary Wente; and District 3 (Redding Township and the North one-half of Washington Township), Robert Akin.

Indiana law prohibits a person who owes delinquent taxes, special assessments, penalties,

interest, or costs directly attributable to a prior tax sale, from purchasing tracts or items of real property at a tax sale. Prior to bidding at a tax sale, each bidder must affirm under the penalties for perjury that he or she does not owe delinquent taxes, special assessments, penalties, interest, costs directly attributable to a prior tax sale, amounts from a final adjudication in favor of a political subdivision in this county, any civil penalties imposed for the violation of a building code or ordinance of this county, or any civil penalties imposed by a health department in this county. Further, each bidder must acknowledge that any successful bid made in violation of the above statement is subject to forfeiture. In the event of forfeiture, the bid amount shall be applied to the delinquent taxes, special assessments, penalties, interest, costs, judgments, or civil penalties of the ineligible bidder, and a certificate will be issued to the county executive.

The Commissioners specifically reserve the right to withhold from the sale any parcel which has been listed in error, or which otherwise becomes ineligible for sale either prior to the start or during the duration of the auction.
