Pursuant to its Bylaws and the Statues of the State of Indiana (I.C. 8-1-13-11), Jackson County Rural Electric Membership Corporation (Cooperative) hereby places on notice certain individuals that unclaimed balances are being held in their names and if said balances are not duly claimed within sixty (60) days from the date of publication of this notice, the same shall be contributed to the Cooperative as outlined in its Bylaws.

Pursuant to Indiana Code § 20-26-7-37, notice is hereby given that the Board of School Trustees of the Scott County School District 2 will meet at 6:30 p.m. on August 23, 2021, in the Administration Office Board Room,  375 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana, to hold a hearing to discuss and hear objections and support regarding the following proposed Projects:  i) High School Project which consists of the renovation of and improvements to the Scottsburg High School, including construction of additions and the purchase of equipment and technology and ii) Elementary Project which consists of the renovation of and improvements to elementary school buildings, including the purchase of equipment and technology (collectively, the “Projects”).  You are invited to attend and participate in the public hearing on the Projects.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING CREATION OF RESIDENTIAL HOUSING TIF AREA IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN, IN IN ACCORDANCE WITH I.C. 36-7-14-17

On June 23, 2021, the Austin Redevelopment Commission (the “Commission”) approved and adopted its Resolution No. 2021-R-5 entitled “Resolution of the City of Austin Redevelopment Commission Designating and Declaring a Certain Area as an Economic Development Area, Approving an Economic Development Plan for said Area, Establishing a Residential Housing Program in said Area, and Regarding Related Matters” (the “Declaratory Resolution”). On July 13, 2021, the City of Austin Common Council and Advisory Plan Commission passed Resolutions approving the Declaratory Resolution and said resolutions have been received by the Commission. On August 25, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. the Commission will hold a public meeting and hearing at Austin City Hall, 82 W. Main St., Austin, IN 47102 to do the following items:

1. Receive and hear remonstrances and objections from persons interested in or affected by the proceedings pertaining to the proposed project or other actions to be taken under the resolution; and

2. Determine the public utility and benefit of the proposed project or other actions.

Maps and plats have been prepared and can be inspected at City Hall. All persons affected in any manner by the hearing, including all taxpayers of the special taxing district, shall be considered notified of the pendency of the hearing and of subsequent acts, hearings, adjournments, and orders of the Commission by this notice.

On August 25, 2021, immediately following the public hearing, the Commission will consider a Confirmatory Resolution to establish a Residential Housing TIF program in the City of Austin.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Notice is hereby given, that the City of Austin, Indiana, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, will receive sealed bids for the construction of the following project:

CITY OF AUSTIN 2021 ROADWAY RESURFACING PROJECT

The specifications and accompanying Proposed Roads 2021 and Enterprise Avenue drawings describe the work to be done and the materials to be furnished for the construction of the improvements.  The project generally consists of the following:

Asphalt overlay of approximately 1.32 miles of residential roadways along with converting 250ft of gravel road to asphalt located within the Austin City limits.

Sealed bids are invited and may be delivered or forwarded by registered mail, addressed to the City of Austin, City Hall, 80 W. Main St., Austin, IN 47102 until 3:00 pm  (local time) on  September 1, 2021. Bids received after such hour will be returned unopened.  Each Bid shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the title “City of Austin 2021 Roadway Repaving Project” and the name and address of the Bidder.

The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 3:00 pm on September 1, 2021 at the Austin City Hall.

The contract documents including plans and specifications are on file for public inspection at the following locations:

1.  Heritage Engineering LLC, at 603 N. Shore Drive, Unit 204, Jeffersonville, IN  47130.

2.  City of Austin, City Hall, 80 W. Main St., Austin, IN 47102

Complete copies of the Bid Documents may be obtained by prospective Bidders from Heritage Engineering, LLC at 603 N. Shore Drive, Unit 204, Jeffersonville, IN  47130.  All Bidders shall be registered plan holders with the Engineer in order for their bid to be valid.

All bids must be submitted on the bid forms as identified in the Contract Documents and Specifications.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bidder’s bond made payable to The City of Austin, in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount, which check or bond will be held by the Owner as evidence that the bidder will, if awarded the contract, enter into the same with the Owner upon notification from him to do so within ten (10) days of said notification.

Approved performance and payment bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the Contractor at the time of contract execution. The bonds will be in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price and must be in full force and effect throughout the term of the Construction Contract plus a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids, or to make such combination of bids as may seem desirable, and to waive any and all informalities in bidding.  Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof.  Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered.  No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days.

A conditional or qualified Bid will not be accepted.

Award will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.

All applicable laws, ordinances and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the project throughout.

Bids shall include all information requested by Indiana Form 96.  Under Section III of Form 96, the Bidder shall submit a financial statement (i.e. Indiana Form 96A or equivalent).  The Owner may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the Bidder to perform the work and the Bidder shall furnish to the Owner all such information and data for this purpose as the Owner may request.  The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Agreement and to complete the work contemplated therein.

Each Bidder is responsible for inspecting the Project site(s) and for reading and being thoroughly familiar with the Contract Documents and Specifications.  The failure or omission of any Bidder to do any of the foregoing shall in no way relieve any Bidder from any obligation with respect to its Bid.
