CHS Big Red Madness Nov. 11 To Kick Off Tigers Hardwood Season
Indiana Hoosiers ‘Super Sub’ John Laskowski will be the guest speaker at this next weekend’s Crothersville Tigers Big Red Madness on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 6 p.m. in the CHS gym. This annual event will showcase this season’s Crothersville Tiger basketball teams. There will be no admission charge for the Big Red Madness.
Laskowski played basketball for legendary hall of fame coach Bob Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers from 1971–1975.
In his sophomore year, Laskowski helped Indiana reach the Final Four. His senior season, the Hoosiers went undefeated during the regular season and swept the Big 10 Conference. Laskowski was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated his senior year.
In 1975, Laskowski was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the NBA draft. Since retiring from the NBA, Laskowski has worked as a television color commentator and play-by-play analyst for Indiana University basketball games for the Big Ten Network. He also authored the 2003 book ‘Tales from the Hoosier Locker Room’. Laskowski was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999.
In 2018, he opened a Culver’s Restaurant in Bloomington. In 2022, Laskowski opened Culver’s in Seymour.
Prior to Big Red Madness, a chili supper is scheduled to take place in the school cafeteria beginning at 4:30 pm. The cost of the dinner is $5. Dinner tickets can be purchased at the door or from any high school boys basketball team member.
The public is invited to attend.
