A Crothersville woman if facing three drug related charges in Scott County after her arrest on Sunday, Dec. 10.

According to Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Johnney Coomer, around 12:30 p.m. he was sent to Colwell’s Store on State Road 3 in Blocher on the report of a driver passed out in a vehicle with its engine running outside the store’s main entrance.

Coomer said Michelle Marie Griffin, 54, of the 11000 block of E 600 S (Moore Street) was found passed out behind the wheel of silver Chevrolet Silverado.

After rousing the woman, Coomer reported that he observed sores on her face and her movements were sharp and jerky, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Griffin gave Coomer permission to search her vehicle. Finding a black purse, in the truck cab the deputy asked Griffen if the purse was hers which she acknowledged it was.

Inside, Coomer fould a black Crown Royal bag with a multi-color glass pipe with residue with the odor of marijuana. Also found was a dark colored glass pipe with aluminum foil around the end. The residue of that pipe field tested positive for methamphetamine.

After being placed under arrest, Coomer said Griffen told him of the items found in the Crown Royal Bag, “Those are not mine,” according to the court document.

Griffen was booked into Scott County Jail at 1:53 p.m. on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

On Monday, Dec. 11, she appeared before Scott Circuit Court Magistrate Alison Frazier who set her bond at $15,000. She bonded out of jail shortly after 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14..
