Law enforcement officers from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 5997 South U.S. 31 in Underwood in southern Scott County around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The search warrant was the result of Scott County Sheriff’s Detective Paul Clute receiving information regarding drug activity at the address. After his initial investigation was completed arrest warrants were issued for Richard Bramer, 56, of Scottsburg and Vinnie Ferguson, 32, of Henryville for dealing in methamphetamine.
In conducting a search of the residence, approximately 24 grams of methamphetamine, numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia and over $1,000 in cash were found.
Immediately prior to serving the search warrant, deputies saw Steven Heath, 33, of Scottsburg was observed leaving the residence just before the search warrant was executed and deputies made a traffic stop to investigate.
Heath was arrested for maintaining a common nuisance, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of paraphernalia.
A second individual was also seen leaving the residence prior to the execution of the search warrant. A traffic stop to investigate led to the arrest of Wade Roberts, 59, of Henryville for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and visiting a common nuisance.
All were incarcerated in Scott County Jail.
“Each search warrant we do makes Scott County safer and should be sending a signal ‘you better not deal drugs in Scott County’,” Sheriff Jerry Goodin said. “The anonymous tips we receive help us in our efforts to make Scott County safer.”
Goodin praised his deputies’ efforts and thanked the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance. The Jennings County Emergency Response Team assisted Scott Counties Emergency Response Team with manpower during the execution of the search warrant, he said.
