Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Charlie Morgan and his K-9 partner Zeus were on routine patrol in Scottsburg around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, April 7, when he observed a man who was wanted by the Indiana Department of Correction in a vehicle leaving an apartment building parking lot.
After making a traffic stop of the vehicle, the deputy verified that the man in the car was Christopher Allen Trick, 35, of Austin, was a wanted person by IDOC and placed him under arrest.
Continuing his investigation at the scene, Lt. Morgan located over 103 grams of methamphetamine, ecstasy, and heroin, along with drug paraphernalia.
Trick was transported to the Scott County Jail where he was booked on dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, and obstruction of justice.
On Tuesday, April 9, while filing the probable cause affidavit, Scott County Prosecutor Chris Owens also filed a notice of intent to seek habitual offender status against Trick.
On Wednesday, April 10, Judge Jason Mount set Trick’s bond at $65,000 full cash.
