Scott County native Jillian Smith won the title of Miss Indiana for America Strong 2024 on April 6 at South Bend.
Smith was a former Miss Scott County in 2021 and held the title of Miss Southern Indiana 2024.
She said about her new title as Miss Indiana, “This is such a humbling and heartfelt experience for me. A dream that I can barely comprehend. Not only did I do this for my 8-year-old self, but for all of the little girls, like me who struggled to find their place in the world. Even when your mind is telling you that you cannot, push through and prove it to yourself. I am so thankful for the support my community has shown me. I owe them for helping me receive this title.”
