The Board of Zoning Appeals of the City of Seymour, Indiana will hold a public hearing on the 22nd day of September 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at Seymour City Hall, 301-309 N Chestnut St, Seymour, Indiana, enter 3rd St. entrance, (via GoToMeeting https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/384057085) on an ìApplication for Development Standards Varianceî for real estate within the jurisdiction of the Board of Zoning Appeals. A copy of the application is on file and available for review at the Department of Planning & Zoning of the City of Seymour, Indiana.

The hearing is open to the public, all adjoining property owners, and any other interested person. Interested persons may appear and offer comments on the application at the hearing. Any person who chooses to submit written comments or objections may do so at the Department of Planning & Zoning, 301-309 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana before 4:00 p.m. on the day of the hearing.

The applicant is requesting a Variance at 536 Lasher Dr. They want to add an addition and will be in the required side setback of 15 ft. to be 12 ft. The want to build an addition on to the house

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

CITY OF SCOTTSBURG COMMON COUNCIL

PROPOSED ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA AND REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT

Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Scottsburg, Indiana (the ìCommon Councilî), will conduct a public hearing on September 14, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., local time, at Scottsburg City Hall, 821 S. Lake Rd. S., Scottsburg, Indiana, concerning the proposed designation of certain real estate as an Economic Revitalization Area and a proposed real property tax abatement pursuant to Indiana Code ß 6-1.1-12.1.

On August 24, 2026, the Common Council adopted Resolution No. 2026-R-6, a Preliminary Declaratory Resolution preliminarily designating as an Economic Revitalization Area certain real estate generally located at 405 North Main Street, Scottsburg, Indiana 47170, identified as Parcel No. 72-05-20-210-055.001-008, and more particularly described in Resolution No. 2026-R-6 (the ìReal Estateî).

JAM Contractors, LLC has requested a deduction from assessed value for qualifying real property improvements associated with a proposed private residential development known as ìThe Summit on Main.î The proposed project is anticipated to include up to fifteen (15) two-story duplex buildings containing approximately thirty (30) residential dwelling units, together with an internal access road, parking, garages, concrete driveways, landscaping, green space, utilities, drainage facilities, and related site improvements. The project is presently estimated to involve a total investment of approximately $6,279,840.00 and is anticipated to be constructed in approximately four (4) phases.

At the public hearing, the Common Council will receive and hear remonstrances, objections, comments, and other evidence concerning: 1) The proposed designation of the Real Estate as an Economic Revitalization Area; 2) The Applicantís Statement of Benefits ñ Real Estate Improvements; 3) The proposed deduction from assessed value for qualifying real property improvements; and 4) The proposed Tax Abatement Agreement between the City and the Applicant.

Following the public hearing, the Common Council may take final action concerning the proposed Economic Revitalization Area designation and requested tax abatement, including confirming, modifying, or rescinding the preliminary designation and approving, modifying, or denying the requested deduction and related Tax Abatement Agreement. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing.

A copy of Resolution No. 2026-R-6 and related materials may be examined at the office of the City Clerk-Treasurer, Scottsburg City Hall, during regular business hours.

This is Indiana State Forest Timber Sale Number 6352701.

The public sale is to be held online through Indiana Forestry Exchange website at https://timbersalebidding.dnr.in.gov/. Bids will be accepted online at this site from licensed buyers and agents.

The sale has the following conditions:

2-year contract. Minimum 75í cable recommended.. Timber mats needed for one pre-approved unmapped stream crossing. No stream crossings without prior approval from the administering forester. Pre-harvest conference required. Someone on site required to have current Lvl 1 Cutter Training and Intro to BMPs certification. Recreational trails, fire lanes, paved roads, and parking areas must be left in same, if not better, condition upon completion of harvesting operations; purchaser bears any associated costs. Purchaser must seed/straw log yard(s) and other special areas as designated by the administering forester.

The timber specified in this document is Certified Wood. Indiana State Forests are certified by both the Sustainable Forestry InitiativeÆ (SFIÆ) Program and the Forest Stewardship CouncilÆ (FSCÆ). Purchasers of State Forest timber may market state forest timber products as certified if they have the appropriate Chain of Custody certificate.

The FSCÆ Certificate Number for Indiana State Forests is SCS-FM/COC-00099N. The FSCÆ claim is ìFSCÆ 100%î.

The SFIÆ Certificate Number for Indiana State Forests is SCS-SFI/FM-00099N.

Bids for such property will be received at the above website until the time and date above set at which time and place all acceptable bids will be opened, and any bids sent after the designated time will be rejected.

Bidders in good standing are required to submit a surety bond or irrevocable line of credit (ILOC) to the Division of Forestry to cover their 5% performance deposit (5% of the submitted bid). This bond or ILOC must be on record with the Division of Forestry before any bid can be accepted. The performance deposit amount is not part of the total sale (bid) payment but is a separate payment. Failure to comply with conditions and requirements of the executed contract may result in a forfeiture of a portion or all of this performance deposit. Bids may be revised before the bid time as long as there is sufficient bond to cover the performance deposit.

The property will be sold under written contract to the responsible bidder making the highest sealed bid, provided the bid is acceptable to the state. The winning bidder must make a payment equal to or larger than ten percent (10%) of the bid amount within fourteen calendar days of the bid opening. The winning bidder must return the executed timber sale agreements to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources within one month of the bid opening date. The remaining bid amount balance, if any, shall be paid within one year of the bid opening or prior to the start of harvest operations, whichever occurs first. The bidder may pay the entire bid amount within fourteen calendar days of the bid opening. Failure to pay at least a ten percent (10%) down payment or the full bid amount within fourteen calendar days from the date of bid opening will result in a forfeiture of all of the performance deposit. Failure to pay the total bid amount within the prescribed time will result in a forfeiture of all of the performance deposit and any down payment. The terms of the sale will be cash, the buyer to accept delivery of the property and to remove the property therefrom by September 9st, 2028, or 7 days prior to the expiration of the bond covering the performance deposit for the sale, whichever is sooner, and which will be the expiration date of said contract. The Department reserves the right to accept and/or reject any and/or all bids. The Department (at its discretion) reserves the right to rebid the sale.

Pursuant to the laws of the Indiana General Assembly, notice is hereby given that the following described property is listed for sale for delinquent taxes and/or special assessments. 

The county auditor and county treasurer will apply on or after 09/22/2026 for a court judgment against the tracts or real property for an amount that is not less than the amount set out below and for an order to sell the tracts or real property at public auction to the highest bidder, subject to the right of redemption. Any defense to the application for judgment must be filed with the Jackson County Circuit Court and served on the county auditor and treasurer before 09/22/2026. The court will set a date for a hearing at least seven (7) days before the advertised date of sale and the court will determine any defenses to the application for judgment at the hearing. The county auditor and the county treasurer are entitled to receive all pleadings, motions, petitions, and other filings related to the defense to the application for judgment. 

Such sale will be held on 10/09/2026 at the Courthouse – 2nd Floor Courtroom and that sale will continue until all tracts and real property have been offered for sale. At the discretion of local officials, the tax sale may switch to an online format. If those measures are taking place, the public auction will be conducted as an electronic sale under IC 6-1.1-24-2 (b) 10 at www.zeusauction.com commencing on the same date/time listed above. All location updates will be posted at www.sriservices.com prior to the tax sale. 

Property will not be sold for an amount which is less than the sum of: 

(A)† the delinquent taxes and special assessments on each tract or item of real property; and 

(B)† the taxes and special assessments on the real property that are due and payable in the year of the sale, whether or not they are delinquent; and 

(C)† all penalties due on the delinquencies, and 

(D)† an amount prescribed by the county auditor that equals the sum of:

(1)† twenty-five dollars ($25) for postage and publication costs; and 

(2)† any other costs incurred by the county that are directly attributable to the tax sale; and 

(E)† any unpaid costs due under IC 6-1.1-24-2(c) from a prior tax sale. 

No property listed below shall be sold if, at any time before the sale, the Total Amount for Judgment is paid in full. If the real property is sold in the tax sale, the amount required to redeem such property will be 110% of the minimum bid for which the tract or real property was offered at the time of sale, if redeemed not more than six (6) months after the date of sale, or 115% of the minimum bid for which the tract or real property was offered at the time of sale, if redeemed more than six (6) months after the date of sale, plus the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the minimum bid on the real property plus five percent (5%) per annum interest on the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the minimum bid on the property. All taxes and special assessments upon the property paid by the purchaser subsequent to the sale, plus five percent (5%) per annum interest on those taxes and special assessments, will also be required to be paid to redeem such property. In addition, IC 6-1.1-25-2 (e) states the total amount required for redemption may include the following costs incurred and paid by the purchaser or the purchaser’s assignee or the county before redemption: (1) The attorney’s fees and cost of giving notice under IC 6-1.1-25-4.5; (2) The costs of title search or examining and update the abstract of title for the tract or item of real property. The period of redemption shall expire on Tuesday, October 12, 2027 for certificates sold in the tax sale. For certificates struck to the county, the period of redemption may expire Monday, February 08, 2027. If the tract or item of real property is sold for an amount more than the minimum bid and the property is not redeemed, the owner of record of the property who is divested of ownership at the time the tax deed is issued may have a right to the tax sale surplus. The Auditor and Treasurer specifically reserve the right to withhold from the sale any parcel which has been listed in error, or which otherwise becomes ineligible for sale either prior to 10/09/2026 or during the duration of the sale. This notice of real property tax sale, and the tax sale itself are undertaken and will be conducted pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of Indiana which regulate the sale of land for delinquent taxes, pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-24-1 et seq.
