Key West is the destination people in Indiana search for most when planning a US vacation, at an average of 300 searches a month.

Myrtle Beach and Yosemite take second and third place in the study of Google search volumes across 100 popular US destinations.

The study by luxury travel advisors The Resorts Collection analyzed Google search volumes over the past 12 months for a list of 100 popular US domestic vacation destinations to find the spots that Indiana searches for most.

Key West comes out on top, with the Florida destination searched an average of 300 times a month across Indiana.

In second place is Myrtle Beach, with 222 searches a month.

Yosemite takes third place, with 192 searches a month.

Branson follows in fourth place, with 182 searches a month.

In fifth place is Las Vegas, with 174 searches a month.

The data also shows Indiana leans toward home soil, with 58.6% of its vacation searches focused on US destinations rather than trips abroad.

Florian Pauly, Co-founder of The Resorts Collection, commented on the findings,

“A coastal break like Key West or Myrtle Beach really sells itself on simplicity. There is no itinerary to manage and no landmark you have to tick off, just sea air and the freedom to do very little. For travelers in Indiana chasing that feeling, the smart move is to go slightly outside peak season, when the same beaches are quieter, and the prices are far kinder.”
