The driver of the pickup Ronald Dean Odle, 64, of Medora was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail. The truck, motorcycles, and other property were transported to the jail for processing where methamphetamine was discovered by authorities.

Odle was charged with two counts of vehicle theft, possession of methamphetamine, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction. It was also discovered with had an outstanding warrant in Clark County for theft.

Based on information found in Odle’s truck, deputies from Scott and Floyd Counties obtained and served a search warrant on Tuesday, June 9 at  a property on Atkins Road in Floyd County. There, deputies located a stolen enclosed trailer that was connected to the stolen motorcycles recovered earlier and five stolen cars that were parked around the trailer. All were reported stolen from locations in Louisville.

Deputies discovered a possible “chop shop” activity where stolen vehicles are taken to dismantle or change in some way to be fraudulently sold.

Goodin said additional charges could be added as the investigation continues. “This is another example of Scott County Deputies going the extra mile by aggressively and thoroughly investigating crime, no matter where it originates from,” said Goodin.
