The Scott County Commissioners will be holding a public hearing next Wednesday, April 15, to consider taking action of a rezoning request to allow for additional housing in the community of Lexington.

At their March 11 meeting the county Advisory Plan Commission unanimously approved the request of KFG Building LLC to re-zone approximately three acres from Agricultural to Residential 1 by an 8-0 vote.

The APC approval now moves the final decision for re-zoning to the county commissioners

KFG intends to build single family homes on the land.

The property, located east of Alexander Street, is a part of 13 previously surveyed lots that were platted but never developed in the original town plat of Lexington.

The commissioners will consider the matter at 5 p.m. on April 15 in the County Annex building, the former Scottsburg City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
