Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer has announced the release of a custom smartphone application. The app will serve as an innovative way for the sheriff’s office to connect with Jackson County residents and visitors by providing information quickly and efficiently to anyone with a smartphone, said Meyer.

He new sheriff’s office app was developed by TheSheriffApp.com which specializes in mobile app development for sheriffs and public safety organizations across the country, Meyer said. The app offers quick access to items of public interest and is easy to use.

“Over 80% of people in the US own and use a smartphone as their primary means of communications, said Meyer. “Mobile apps offer agencies a better way to alert, inform and prepare the public by allowing public agencies the ability to reach and serve their citizens where they are via their smartphone.”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office app is available to download for free in the App Store and Google Play by searching “Jackson County Sheriff, IN”.
