NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF WASHINGTON COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
The Washington County Solid Waste Management District will hold a public hearing on September 22, 2025 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse Conference Room, 2nd Floor, 99 Public Square, Salem, Indiana, to provide interested citizens with an opportunity to express their views on a proposed increase in tipping fees charged to users of the Washington County Landfill.
Under the proposed Resolution, the following changes in fees would result:
(a) the City of Salem’s fixed monthly rate would increase from $6,300 to $7,500;
(b) certain general public fees will increase as follows: If adopted, the amended fee schedule would be as follows:
Per-ton tipping fee: $25.60
Minimum load charge: $20.00
Passenger tires: $8.00/tire (on or off rim)
Semi & tires >18” $15.00/tire (no waivers)
Tractor/Ag tires $50.00/tire (no waivers)
Out of county refuse $100.00 fine
(c) Exemption for all 3/4 ton and smaller trucks hauling individual residential, non-demolition, noncommercial trash from Washington County. All other fees and fines would remain unchanged.
At the hearing, oral comments from those members of the public who sign in to speak at the hearing concerning the proposal will be heard. Every effort will be made to allow persons to voice their opinions at the public hearing. Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Scottsburg shall hold a public hearing on a proposed voluntary annexation of property on the 22nd day of September 2025, at 6:00 PM p.m. at City Hall, 2 E. McClain Avenue, Scottsburg Indiana.

Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the school corporation known as Scott County School District 2 (the “School Corporation”) that the Board of School Trustees (the “Board”) of the School Corporation will meet at the Administration Office Board Room, 375 East McClain Avenue, Scottsburg, Indiana, at the hour of 6:00 p.m. (Local Time) on September 10, 2025, to consider the following additional appropriation of the bonds (the “Bonds”) which the Board has determined to issue. The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the issuance and sale of Bonds by the School Corporation.
The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy, and a need for such appropriation exists by reason of the inadequacy of the present buildings to provide necessary school facilities in the School Corporation.

Pursuant to the laws of the Indiana General Assembly, notice is hereby given that the following described property is listed for sale for delinquent taxes and/or special assessments.
Pursuant to a change in law, this publication will appear only once in newspapers. Subsequent notices can be found at www.scottcounty.in.gov/.
The county auditor and county treasurer will apply on or after 09/12/2025 for a court judgment against the tracts or real property for an amount that is not less than the amount set out below and for an order to sell the tracts or real property at public auction to the highest bidder, subject to the right of redemption. Any defense to the application for judgment must be filed with the Scott County Circuit Court and served on the county auditor and treasurer before 09/12/2025. The court will set a date for a hearing at least seven (7) days before the advertised date of sale and the court will determine any defenses to the application for judgment at the hearing. The county auditor and the county treasurer are entitled to receive all pleadings, motions, petitions, and other filings related to the defense to the application for judgment.
Such sale will be held on 09/29/2025 at the Courthouse – Comm Room and that sale will continue until all tracts and real property have been offered for sale. At the discretion of local officials, the tax sale may switch to an online format. If those measures are taking place, the public auction will be conducted as an electronic sale under IC 6-1.1-24-2 (b) 10 at www.zeusauction.com commencing on the same date/time listed above. All location updates will be posted at www.sriservices.com prior to the tax sale.
Property will not be sold for an amount which is less than the sum of:
(A) the delinquent taxes and special assessments on each tract or item of real property; and
(B) the taxes and special assessments on the real property that are due and payable in the year of the sale, whether or not they are delinquent; and
(C) all penalties due on the delinquencies, and
(D) an amount prescribed by the county auditor that equals the sum of:
(1) twenty-five dollars ($25) for postage and publication costs; and
(2) any other costs incurred by the county that are directly attributable to the tax sale; and
(E) any unpaid costs due under IC 6-1.1-24-2(c) from a prior tax sale.
No property listed below shall be sold if, at any time before the sale, the Total Amount for Judgment is paid in full. If the real property is sold in the tax sale, the amount required to redeem such property will be 110% of the minimum bid for which the tract or real property was offered at the time of sale, if redeemed not more than six (6) months after the date of sale, or 115% of the minimum bid for which the tract or real property was offered at the time of sale, if redeemed more than six (6) months after the date of sale, plus the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the minimum bid on the real property plus five percent (5%) per annum interest on the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the minimum bid on the property. All taxes and special assessments upon the property paid by the purchaser subsequent to the sale, plus five percent (5%) per annum interest on those taxes and special assessments, will also be required to be paid to redeem such property.
In addition, IC 6-1.1-25-2 (e) states the total amount required for redemption may include the following costs incurred and paid by the purchaser or the purchaser’s assignee or the county before redemption: (1) The attorney’s fees and cost of giving notice under IC 6-1.1-25-4.5; (2) The costs of title search or examining and update the abstract of title for the tract or item of real property. The period of redemption shall expire on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 for certificates sold in the tax sale. For certificates struck to the county, the period of redemption may expire Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
If the tract or item of real property is sold for an amount more than the minimum bid and the property is not redeemed, the owner of record of the property who is divested of ownership at the time the tax deed is issued may have a right to the tax sale surplus.
The Auditor and Treasurer specifically reserve the right to withhold from the sale any parcel which has been listed in error, or which otherwise becomes ineligible for sale either prior to 09/29/2025 or during the duration of the sale.
This notice of real property tax sale, and the tax sale itself are undertaken and will be conducted pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of Indiana which regulate the sale of land for delinquent taxes, pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-24-1 et seq.

NOTICE OF EXECUTION OF AND DETERMINATION TO ENTER INTO
FOURTH AMENDMENT TO LEASE
Notice is hereby given that the Board of School Trustees of Scott County School District 1 (“Board” and “School Corporation”, respectively) on July 21, 2025, adopted a resolution determining to enter into a Fourth Amendment to Lease (the “Fourth Amendment to Lease”), amending and supplementing a Lease dated as of November 9, 1998, as amended by an Amendment to Lease dated as of April 27, 2005, a Second Amendment to Lease dated as of December 30, 2014 and a Third Amendment to Lease dated as of February 17, 2020 (collectively, the “Original Lease”), between the School Corporation and the Scott County 1998 School Building Corporation (the “Building Corporation”). On August 29, 2025, the School Corporation and the Building Corporation executed the Fourth Amendment to Lease. The Fourth Amendment to Lease permits capital improvements to the school facilities of the School Corporation in order to maintain the facilities, including but not limited to roof repairs to the middle/high school, parking lot improvements at all school facilities, new lockers at the middle/high school, outdoor facilities upgrades at all school facilities, elementary school improvements and HVAC improvements at the middle/high schools, and all other related improvements in connection therewith including the costs of financing thereof (collectively, the “Project”).
The Fourth Amendment to Lease provides for a maximum annual rental with respect to the Project of not to exceed $500,000, with annual rentals under the Fourth Amendment to Lease payable commencing with tax years 2026 and ending no later than 2046. In any event, the total costs of the Project supported by such lease rentals shall not exceed $2,600,000. Approval and execution of the Fourth Amendment to Lease were made following the publication of notice and public hearings made and held in accordance with Indiana Code 20-47-3-9 and Indiana Code 6-1.1-20-3.1. This notice is provided in accordance with the provisions of Indiana Code 20-47-3-11 and 6-1.1-20-5.

Pursuant to the laws of the Indiana General Assembly, notice is hereby given that the following described property is listed for sale for delinquent taxes and/or special assessments.
Pursuant to a change in law, this publication will appear only once in newspapers. Subsequent notices can be found at https://www.jacksoncounty.in.gov/.
The county auditor and county treasurer will apply on or after 09/30/2025 for a court judgment against the tracts or real property for an amount that is not less than the amount set out below and for an order to sell the tracts or real property at public auction to the highest bidder, subject to the right of redemption. Any defense to the application for judgment must be filed with the Jackson County Circuit Court and served on the county auditor and treasurer before 09/30/2025. The court will set a date for a hearing at least seven (7) days before the advertised date of sale and the court will determine any defenses to the application for judgment at the hearing. The county auditor and the county treasurer are entitled to receive all pleadings, motions, petitions, and other filings related to the defense to the application for judgment.
Such sale will be held on 10/17/2025 at the Courthouse – 2nd Floor Courtroom and that sale will continue until all tracts and real property have been offered for sale. At the discretion of local officials, the tax sale may switch to an online format. If those measures are taking place, the public auction will be conducted as an electronic sale under IC 6-1.1-24-2 (b) 10 at www.zeusauction.com commencing on the same date/time listed above. All location updates will be posted at www.sriservices.com prior to the tax sale.
Property will not be sold for an amount which is less than the sum of:
(A) the delinquent taxes and special assessments on each tract or item of real property; and
(B) the taxes and special assessments on the real property that are due and payable in the year of the sale, whether or not they are delinquent; and
(C) all penalties due on the delinquencies, and
(D) an amount prescribed by the county auditor that equals the sum of:
(1) twenty-five dollars ($25) for postage and publication costs; and
(2) any other costs incurred by the county that are directly attributable to the tax sale; and
(E) any unpaid costs due under IC 6-1.1-24-2(c) from a prior tax sale.
No property listed below shall be sold if, at any time before the sale, the Total Amount for Judgment is paid in full. If the real property is sold in the tax sale, the amount required to redeem such property will be 110% of the minimum bid for which the tract or real property was offered at the time of sale, if redeemed not more than six (6) months after the date of sale, or 115% of the minimum bid for which the tract or real property was offered at the time of sale, if redeemed more than six (6) months after the date of sale, plus the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the minimum bid on the real property plus five percent (5%) per annum interest on the amount by which the purchase price exceeds the minimum bid on the property. All taxes and special assessments upon the property paid by the purchaser subsequent to the sale, plus five percent (5%) per annum interest on those taxes and special assessments, will also be required to be paid to redeem such property.
In addition, IC 6-1.1-25-2 (e) states the total amount required for redemption may include the following costs incurred and paid by the purchaser or the purchaser’s assignee or the county before redemption: (1) The attorney’s fees and cost of giving notice under IC 6-1.1-25-4.5; (2) The costs of title search or examining and update the abstract of title for the tract or item of real property. The period of redemption shall expire on Monday, October 19, 2026 for certificates sold in the tax sale. For certificates struck to the county, the period of redemption may expire Monday, February 16, 2026.
If the tract or item of real property is sold for an amount more than the minimum bid and the property is not redeemed, the owner of record of the property who is divested of ownership at the time the tax deed is issued may have a right to the tax sale surplus.
The Auditor and Treasurer specifically reserve the right to withhold from the sale any parcel which has been listed in error, or which otherwise becomes ineligible for sale either prior to 10/17/2025 or during the duration of the sale.
This notice of real property tax sale, and the tax sale itself are undertaken and will be conducted pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of Indiana which regulate the sale of land for delinquent taxes, pursuant to I.C. 6-1.1-24-1 et seq.
The County does not warrant the accuracy of the street address or common description of the property, and a misstatement in the key number or street address does not invalidate an otherwise valid sale.
Minimum bid amounts are prescribed by law and are subject to change prior to the auction date.
