Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc. is scheduled to close U.S. 31 next week over Lewis Branch north of Uniontown to complete a bridge replacement project in Jackson County.
The closure will take place on U.S. 31 just north of Uniontown between East County Road 50 South and East County Road 150 South. U.S. 31 is expected to reopen in mid-November, weather permitting. While the official detour is using I-65, many local drivers could use Frontage Road from State Road 250 to Commiskey Pike.
This work is part of a $2.4 million contract awarded to E&B in December 2024. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
