The Crothersville Police Department was contacted by the Jackson County animal control officer on Thursday, March 13, that animal control had picked up five dogs which had been dumped on County Road 600 S just west of Crothersville.

According to Deputy Chief of Police Jonathon Tabor, through a posting on Facebook a connection was made with other recent posts of a Crothersville woman, Jessica Bryant, 38, trying to re-home seven dogs. Several of the dogs that were picked up by Jackson County matched dogs that Bryant had posted on her personal Facebook page.
Crothersville Police went to the address listed for Bryant in Crothersville but the home was vacant and no animals were present on the property. Crothersville Police were able to make contact with Bryant over the phone and she stated that she had moved to Seymour.
During the interview police learned that Bryant was aware the dogs had been abandoned due to her not being able to re-home them.
Tabor arrested Bryant for animal neglect and transported her to the Jackson County Jail.
Tabor said only five of the seven abandoned dogs have been located, Tabor said.
