First Lt. Eric N. Dorsey recently graduated from the US Air Force pilot training and is beginning his flying duties at Scott Air Force Base near St. Louis, MO. Dorsey will be flying the KC-135 Stratotanker jet which is an in-air refueling aircraft.
Dorsey attended the US Air Force Military prep School for one year and then attended four years of college at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from the Academy in 2007 with a degree in social sciences.
After graduating he attended Pilot Training School at the 47th Flying Training Wing at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas. At this school he trained by flying the T-6 A Texan II and T-1A Jayhawk aircraft. He graduated in February 2009 earning his Air Force Pilot wings.
He next attended flight training for the KC-135 Stratotanker in the 97th Training Squadron at Altus AFB in Oklahoma. He graduated from this school is September with a certification to fly the KC-135 on active duty.
Dorsey is the son of Kevin and Teresa Dorsey of Valrico, Florida. His grandparents are Don & Verla Norman of Brownstown and Dora Dorsey of Crothersville.
