The closed Crothersville Family Physicians office at the corner of Moore & Preston Streets will become the town’s new police station after it was learned that the town was the successful bidder for the property.
Chief of Police Vurlin McIntosh and town Council president Ardell Mitchell attended last week’s meeting of the Schneck Memorial Hospital’s board of trustees to explain why the town bid on the property and the desire to convert the hospital owned property into a police station.
The hospital board accepted the town’s bid of $100. McIntosh said that paperwork was expected to be signed at Tuesday’s town council meeting beginning the process of acquiring title to the property.
McIntosh said he hopes to have the police department moved into the structure around the first of December.
