Shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, May 31 the Crothersville Police Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle on its side with entrapment on County Road 1025 East (Bethany Road) near County Road 700 South.
Assistant Chief Jonathon Tabor and Officer Mike Weiler responded to the scene. When they arrived the driver, Travis McDonald, 33, of rural Scottsburg was able to extricate himself through the vehicle’s sun roof and did not receive any injuries.
However, while interviewing McDonald police found he had fresh blood on his arm above the elbow and a uncapped loaded syringe was located in the vehicle. The syringe tested positive for an illegal narcotic, Officer Tabor reported.
Officer Mike Weiler also located additional narcotics in McDonald’s wallet. McDonald was checked by Jackson County EMS but refused medical treatment.
McDonald was transported to the Jackson County Jail and faces felony charges of possession of a narcotic and possession of a syringe.
