A 62-year-old rural Washington County man faces two counts of child molesting after having alleged inappropriate contact with two underage victims approximately 19 to 20 years ago, according to Seymour Police.
William J. Gasser of the 6200 block of Mt Eden Road, Scottsburg in rural Gibson Township was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17 on two class A felony charges of child molesting.
Police said the investigation began Sept. 27 when patrol officers and investigators with department learned of allegations a man had inappropriate sexual contact with two underage victims approximately 19 to 20 years ago while they lived in Jackson County.
Gasser was interviewed by investigators and admitted to the inappropriate sexual contact and was arrested and taken to jail.
A Class A felony in Indiana carries a penalty of 20 to 40 years with an advisory sentence of 30 years in prison.
