While motorists along US 31 in Crothersville are aware of the sewer work being undertaken due to single lane traffic between Main Street to south of Moore Street, work is also being done at the under-renovation sewer treatment plant.

The sewer work is being done as a result of the town, along with over 100 other Hoosier communities, who experience Combined Sewer Overflows. The work is being done in part through federal and state grants.
