Wings over Muscatatuck, a free annual event for all bird watchers and nature lovers, will be Friday & Saturday, April 25-26 at the Muscatatuck Wildlife Refuge.

Friday morning’s event is a guided birding trip in a van exploring the refuge. Space is limited and advance registration is required by calling 812-522-4352, ext. 12.

Saturday’s events begin at 8 a.m. and is a full day which includes bird walks, Crane Program, Hawks and Owls of Indiana, Wetland/Woods Guided Walk, and Guided Tour of the Refuge’s closed areas.

Muscatatuck National Wildlife refuge features easy hiking trails and handicapped accessible trails for bird and nature watching.

Children and adults can enjoy Kids Birdhouse building, kid’s watercolor painting with Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, Plein Air Painting with Maureen O’Hara Pesta, face painting by Darnell Dukes, Scavenger Hunt and Bird Cake Walk.

Visitors will enjoy the Native Plant Sale, Silent Auction and Nature Center Gift Shop.

Saturday’s activities will wrap up at 4 p.m.

Thee Muscatatuck Wildlife Refuge is located on US 50 east of Seymour.
