finding food becomes even more of a challenge for critters like this fox squirrel that, at first, was still able to find sunflower seeds on the ground under a nearby bird feeder.

Starting Sunday morning, Jan. 5, and continuing until Monday afternoon, the recent winter storm dumped a total of 10 inches of snow, sleet, and freezing rain across the region, making roads impassable. On Monday, a “condition red” was declared for Jackson County, meaning only emergency vehicles were allowed to be on local roadways. That ban was lifted the next day as crews continued clearing roads and highways. Another three inches of snow fell Friday and Saturday.
