A traffic stop in Austin on Saturday, Jan. 4, resulted in two Scott County women facing drug charges.
Indiana State Police officers made a traffic stop around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Rural Street and First Street in Austin.
After a search of the vehicle being driven by Samantha Mullins, 36, of Austin, yielded a glass smoking pipe. A further search of the vehicle and passengers resulted in another glass smoking pipe containing a white powdery substance being discovered.
ISP Troopers, with the assistance of the Austin Police Department, arrested the driver, Samantha Mullins, for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia.
A passenger, Janice F. Chandler, 52, of Scottsburg, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Both were incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
