Over an ounce of methamphetamine and 82 Zanax pills were discovered during a early morning auto crash Friday which led to the arrest of the driver on a variety of drug charges.
Around 1:38 a.m. Sept. 23, Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy William Morris was sent to the scene of a single vehicle crash at the intersection of Lake Road and SR 56 on Scottsburg’s west side.
The deputy found the driver, Sara Jo Cutshall, 43, of Scottsburg still behind the wheel of the crashed vehicle. After completing the crash investigation, Deputy Morris determined that Cutshall was driving under the influence. While searching the vehicle 82 Zanax pills were found along with some drug paraphernalia.
After the deputy transported the woman to Scott County Jail, during the book-in process, Jail Deputy Samantha Hobbs located approximately 38.5 grams (over an ounce) of methamphetamine concealed on Cutshall’s body.
Cutshall faces charges including driving under the influence, dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance and trafficking with an inmate. The last charge was a result of bringing concealed drugs into the jail.
Cutshall remains incarcerated in Scott County Jail.
