A home check by Community Corrections accompanies by sheriff’s deputies resulted in three Scott County residents going to jail on drug charges.
On Thursday, Sept., 12, Scott County Sheriff’s Deputies Eric Balingit and Bronson Barth assisted Community Corrections officer Melissa Smith and Rebecca Holland pm a home check at a residence in the 1500 block of N. State Road 203 near State Road 256 in Johnson Township.
Officers found a small baggie of what tested positive for methamphetamine in an eyeglass holder off the master bedroom.
Two of the home’s residents, Daryl Lynn Spicer, 60, and his wife, Lisa Pace Spicer, 51, were taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance Both were charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Lisa Spicer was also charge with home detention violation.
Officer Holland found a black & white purse in the upstairs room occupied by Crystal G. Guffey. Guffey acknowledged that the purse was hers. Holland found a pill bottle containing an orange powdery substance later identified a suboxone.
All three admitted to smoking meth, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Guffey told officers that hidden between chair cushions on which she was sitting was a glass pipe which officers recovered.
Guffey was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
At the county jail before being booked in, officers asked Daryl Spicer if he had anything else on him he wanted to disclose. Spicer told officers there was a glass pipe in the waistband of his jeans.
All were booked in to Scott County Jail shortly before noon, on Sept. 12.
Scott County Magistrate Alison T. Frazier sent Daryl Spicer’s bond at $15,000, Frazier sent Lisa Spicer’s bond at $25,000
