Property Tax Bills Being Delivered This Week
Property tax bills were dropped in the mail to Jackson County property owners last Friday.
“They were mailed on time from our printer in Indianapolis,” county Treasurer Kathy Hohenstreiter said last week.
The spring installment will be due Thursday, May 10, while the fall portion will be due Nov. 13 because of the Veterans Day holiday.
Property tax payments may be made at the treasurer’s office at the courthouse, which is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or at The Peoples Bank and State Bank of Medora.
They also may be made via the Internet at www.jackson-tax.net or paid by phone at 1-800-809-5849. Residents should be aware that credit card payments carry a 2.95% additional fee.
