The new da Vinci SI surgical system will be explained by Karen Werskey, BSN RN daVinci Surgical Robotics Coordinator, on Monday, Mar. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at the Crothersville Senior Citizens Center.
This amazing technology provides surgeons with greater precision, greater control, and greater access to hard-to-reach areas, allowing extremely complex operations to be performed through just a few small incisions. Now, minimally invasive techniques can be used for procedures whose complexity once demanded open surgery.
The da Vinci(r) Si(tm) HD Surgical System consists of three main parts: the surgeon console, which includes a video screen, hand controls, and foot pedals; the vision tower; and the bedside cart which is equipped with four robotic arms. One arm holds a 3D HD endoscope, and the other three arms control miniaturized wristed instruments.
The public is invited to attend to learn more about the new surgical technology.
