Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shirley, Jr. of Salem, formerly of Crothersville, recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on May 12. They were married on May 12, 1951 at the Uniontown Baptist Church parsonage by Rev. Walter Mosley.
Mr. Shirley retired from the Jackson Co. Sheriff Dept, is a member of the FOP in Seymour, Indiana Sheriff’s Assoc., the Washington Lodge No. 13 F&A.M, Murat Temple, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Indianapolis.
Mrs. Shirley is retired from Excello Shirt Factory and is a housewife.
They are the parents of three children: Sandra, Stephanie and the late Randy Shirley. They have five grandchildren: Kalee, JD, Randa, Samantha, and Kara; and enjoy three great-grandchildren, Nehemiah, Asher and Gabriel.
The children and grandchildren will be hosting a reception for the couple at the Nazarene Annex in Crothersville this Sunday, June 12, from 3- 5 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend. They ask that gifts please be omitted.
