Indiana 9th District Congresswoman Erin Houchin announced the winners of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Indiana’s 9th District. Dozens of outstanding submissions were received from high school students across the district.

First Place & People’s Choice award was “Grapefruit” by Jordan Bailey, Scottsburg High School

As the first-place winner, Jordan Bailey’s artwork “Grapefruit” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside winning entries from congressional districts across the country. Bailey will also receive a trip to Washington, D.C. for a national reception honoring all winners.

The Congressional Art Competition is an annual event sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize and encourage artistic talent in each congressional district. The 9th District art competition was instituted by long time Congressman Lee Hamilton.
