Scottsburg residents will be able to dispose of their accumulated large trash from 8 a.m. to noon for the next four Saturdays at the city transfer station on South 5th Street. This drop off service is for city of Scottsburg residents only and identification must be shown prior to disposal.
Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses, dishwasher, washers & dryers, furnaces, mowers, hot water heaters, paint cans with dried paint, carpet that has been cut unto four-feet sections.
All large appliances must be drained of all fluids.
Unacceptable items include whole tires, microwaves, gas tanks, chemicals, paint cans containing non-died paint, unknown liquids, rock, brick and concrete materials, street drums and burn barrels, any item containing asbestos, TVs, computers, copiers, printers, any unit containing Freon® such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units.
Tires will be accepted if they are cut into quarters or if the sidewalls are cut out.
Residents are responsible for unloading materials and there will be an additional fee for items longer than and pick up truck bed or 8’ trailer.
