Police were called to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville last week after a 3-year old girl was admitted with serious and suspicious injuries from suspected child abuse, according to Indiana State Police Sgt. Jerry Goodin.
ISP Detective Brian Busick went to the girl’s home on Tuesday, Aug. 18, and interviewed her father, James Collings, 25, of 1688 Rosewood Road in Scottsburg.
Busick said while talking to Collings he said that he became upset at the three-year-old child and reportedly tied her up on several occasions with zip ties. On one occasion he allegedly struck her with a belt buckle.
Following the interview with Collings, Busick placed Collings under arrest. He was incarcerated at Scott County Jail on a felony charge of battery with bodily injury.
Goodin said the investigation is continuing.
