After a nearly month long investigation, on Thursday, April 14, deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants from their investigation into a local burglary which led to the arrest of three on theft and drug charges.

Scott County Sheriff’s Detective John Hartman began the investigation in March after a resident reported their home had been burglarized with jewelry and guns being taken. After his investigation, Hartman obtained search warrants for residences in Austin and Lexington.

In serving the search warrants, multiple items taken during the burglary were recovered including jewelry and guns.  Also located were illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Arrested were Chris Tharp, 36, of Lexington, Jillian Watson, 38, of Salem, and Ryan McGlothlin, 36, of Charlestown.

Tharp faces charges of burglary, theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, and intimidation.

Watson was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a syringe, and maintaining a common nuisance.

McGlothlin was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, and visiting a common nuisance.

All three were incarcerated in Scott County Jail.
