While on patrol around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Steven Frey was notified that a vehicle was sitting in the roadway on South Lake Road with the driver passed out.
The deputy located the vehicle on South Lake Road near the intersection of Collins Road in southern Scott County. The driver, later identified as Brandon Dale Robinson, 42, of the 500 block of East 10th Street in Seymour was sitting behind the steering wheel with his chin resting on his chest. The vehicle’s engine was running, with the transmission in drive, and Robinson’s foot was on the brake.
Once Deputy Frey was able to awaken Robinson, he removed him from the vehicle to make the scene safe and allow Scott County EMS to assess Robinson.
Deputy Johnney Coomer arrived to assist Frey. The officers discovered cocaine, heroin, and other prescription pills on Robinson and in the vehicle, along with $757 in cash.
Robinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County Jail, charged with possession of cocaine, possession of narcotic drug, possession of controlled substance, all felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Scott Circuit Court Magistrate Alison Frazier set Robinson’s bond at $50,000. As of the Time’s press deadline, he remains in custody
