A rural Scott County man was incarcerated Friday in Scott County Jail on charges of battery and neglect of dependent following an investigation by Indiana State Police Detective David Mitchell.
Bryan Lee Anthony, 28, of Shea Road, Scottsburg, was charged after Scott County Division of Family and Children notified authorities. According to Mitchell on Tuesday, Nov. 17, Anthony, allegedly became upset at his six-month-old child and allegedly shook the infant in its bed.
On Thursday, Nov. 19, the child was taken to a pediatrician for a previously scheduled monthly checkup. During the visit, the doctor expressed concern for a head injury to the infant. The child was admitted to the Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, for treatment.
ISP officers are continuing the investigation.
