A 20-year old Salem man died in a fall at an abandoned quarry in southwest Jackson County last Wednesday.
According to Sheriff Rick Meyer, his department received a report of a man falling off a cliff in the 10000 block of S 675 near Sparksville around 6 p.m.
When deputies arrived they found Jayden Clark deceased due to a fall.
“He was walking around an old abandoned quarry and apparently got too close to the edge of the quarry and fell approximately 50-75 feet,” Meyer reported.
An autopsy was performed at Schneck Medical Center on Thursday.
Assisting in the investigation were the Carr Township Fire Dept., Brownstown Fire Dept., Jackson County EMS, Medora Police Dept., and Jackson County Coroner Miko McRoy.
