A rural Scott County man was arrested last Wednesday, Nov. 9, by Indiana State Police Detective David Mitchell on three felony charges of child molesting.

Heathe L. Barnes, 23, of East Cutshall Road, Scottsburg was arrested on a Scott County warrant alleging that he had in appropriate contact with a minor under age 14.
Police received a tip that Barnes was at a home on North Jeffery Street near his East Cutshall Road residence. When Indiana State Police officers and deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department went to the residence, Barnes attempted to hide from them in the attic of the home, according ISP Sgt. Jerry Goodin.
“Officers were able to talk Barnes down from the attic and he was arrested,” he said
Barnes was booked into Scott County Jail shortly after noon last Wednesday. At an initial hearing bond was set at $100,000. A pretrial conference was set for Jan. 3, 2017 and a jury trail was set for Apr. 11, 2017 in Scott Circuit Court
