The Indiana Department of Transportation is planning to undertake a bridge replacement, funded in part by the Federal Highway Administration. The project includes the replacement of SR 250 over Crooked Creek located about 5.28 miles west of SR 3 in Section 27, T-5-N, R-7-E near Paris Crossing in Jennings County, Indiana. The proposed typical section shall consist of two 11 ft travel lanes, bordered by 4 ft paved shoulders. The proposed project will replace the existing structure on essentially the same horizontal and vertical alignment with a bridge featuring modern safety and structural standards. The new structure will be a 24 ft span by 10 ft rise Precast Reinforced Concrete Three-Sided Structure with a clear roadway width of 30 ft. The total length of the proposed project will be 0.128 miles which includes 50 feet of incidental construction at the west and east ends of the project. The proposed project will require an additional 1.96 acres of permanent right of way from 7 parcels comprised of residential and agricultural land. No relocations will be necessary for this project. The proposed action does not impact properties listed on or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The Federal Highway Administration has issued a finding of “no historic properties affected” for the project, due to the fact that there are no properties listed on or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. In accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act, the views of the public are being sought regarding the effect of the proposed project on the historic elements as per 36 CFR 800.2(d), 800.3(e) and 800.6(a)(4). Pursuant to 36 CFR 800.6(a)(4), the documentation specified in 36 CFR 800.11(d) is available for inspection at Wilbur Smith Associates, Inc in Indianapolis. This documentation serves as the basis for the Federal Highway Administration’s “no historic properties affected” finding. The views of the public on this finding are being sought.
