Declining customer traffic and fewer counter transactions has forced the Crothersville Post office to reduce retail window hours of operation, Crothersville Postmaster Carolyn King said this week.
“Mail volumes are down and as a result, I need to re-adjust our opening hours,” she said.
The new hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The counter will be closed got lunch from noon to 1 p.m.. Saturday hours will be 8 to 11 a.m.
Nationally, mail volume dropped 5.5 percent from the same period last year.
