Scott County Sheriff Deputies held training at Lexington Elementary on Monday, Aug. 8. Their training consisted of a variety of scenarios including a shooter in a classroom, a hostage situation, and how to safely and quickly check each room as a team unit. The training was enhanced by volunteers from Scott County Dispatch role playing as screaming victims.
The police officers included School Resource Officers (SRO) and the Scott County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (ERT).
