Two Crothersville men found themselves behind bars early last Thursday morning when Crothersville Police were called to a West Walnut Street address.
According to officer Brent Turner he had been told that Terry Kinworthy, 34, of Crothersville, who was wanted on a parole violation, was staying at the home of Gary Rutherford on West Walnut Street.
He and CPD officer Chris Cooper went to the address but before entering to search for Kinworthy, they observed marijuana growing on Rutherford’s property.
After obtaining a search warrant, Crothersville Chief of Police Richard Hanlin, said the two officers entered the home and arrested Kinworthy for violating parole. Hanlin said local police charged Rutherford, 47, with two counts of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
Kinworthy was booked into Jackson County Jail at 3:21 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8
Rutherford was booked into Jackson County Jail at 5:52 a.m. on Thursday and after posting a $705 bond was released at 8:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept, 9.
