About 1 p.m. last Wednesday, July 3, Indiana State Police arrested two people on drug charges following a traffic stop on I-65 near the Crothersville interchange that led to the discovery of methamphetamine.
The investigation began when Trooper Randel Miller stopped a white 1991 Chevrolet truck for a traffic infraction on I-65 Northbound near the 36 mile marker near the Crothersville interchange, according to ISP Sgt Stephen Wheeles. During the course of the traffic stop, Trp. Miller became suspicious of criminal activity. He deployed his drug detection K-9 Jinx, who alerted to the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, troopers from the All Crimes Policing Unit located approximately 28 grams (about 1/8 of a cup) of suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Trp. Miller arrested the driver of the vehicle, Ryan C. Plessinger, 33, North Vernon, and his passenger Rose Z. Victorino, 57, Crothersville, on drug charges.
After being transported to the Jackson County Jail, Victorino was found to be in possession of approximately 40 additional grams (about 1/4 of a cup) of methamphetamine that she had concealed on her person, Wheeles reported.
Both Plessinger and Victorino face felony charges of dealing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. They were incarcerated at Jackson County Circuit Court.
