City and rural mail carriers will be collecting non-perishable food this Saturday, May 14, when they deliver mail during the National Association of Letter Carriers ‘Stamp Out Hunger’ food drive.
“Residents wishing to contribute to the food drive are encouraged to leave non-perishable food and canned good in plastic bags and hang them from their mail box,” said local letter carrier Justin Herndin.
The food will be delivered to the Crothersville Food Pantry, Herndon said.
Last year in the event’s inaugural drive, nearly 3,100 pounds of food was collected.
“We want to collect even more this year,” said Herndon.
