The Annual Rock’n Ready School Supply Drive kicked off on July 9 to collect school supplies for all Jackson County students. Rock’n Ready is a collaboration of organizations whose goal is to ensure an increased number of children from low income families throughout Jackson County will have school supplies. The goal is to make sure 100% of our students in Jackson County Schools arrive on the first day of school with basic school supplies.
The public and business are holding collection sites.
Volunteers will be outside Seymour Walmart Super Center to collect pencils, paper and other basic school supplies, beginning today through Wednesday, July 23 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m
In Crothersville the public can drop off school supplies at Lucille’s Home Cookin’, and the Crothersville Library.
Employees of Aisin Drive Train and Aisin Chemical hold collections for their workers.
Supply lists and collection boxes will be at all drop off sites.
Families from Jackson County still have the opportunity to enroll in the Rock’n Ready program by calling United Way 211 to register for the distribution by this Friday, July 18. Parents or Guardians must register the children by calling 2-1-1 by land line or 812-376-6666 by cell phone Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
