NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION TO ISSUE BONDS OF THE CITY OF SALEM, INDIANA
The residents and taxpayers of the City of Salem, Indiana (the “City”) are hereby given notice that the Common Council of the City preliminarily determined, at its meeting held September 8, 2025, to issue general obligation bonds of the City, in one or more series, in an original aggregate principal amount not to exceed $1,500,000 (the “Bonds”), for the purpose of providing for the payment or reimbursement of (i) all or a portion of the costs of planning and constructing various capital projects of the City (collectively, the “Project”); (ii) preliminary expenses related thereto and all incidental expenses incurred in connection therewith (all of which are deemed to be a part of the Project); and (iii) the costs of selling and issuing the Bonds.
The proposed Bonds will have a final maturity no later than seven (7) years from the date of issuance of the Bonds. The Bonds will bear interest at a rate or rates not exceeding 7.00% per annum, the exact rate or rates to be determined by the Clerk-Treasurer of the City with the advice of the City’s municipal advisor. The Bonds will be payable from ad valorem property taxes levied and collected on all taxable property within the City.
